300mm Cores Through Reinforced Concrete for IKEA

The job: A run of 300mm cores through heavily reinforced concrete walls for new services, on a live Skanska site for IKEA.
What we did: Scanned and marked every position, confirmed with the principal contractor that cutting bars was approved, then cored wet with a rig-mounted drill and slurry collection, easing off through the rebar.
The result: Every core cut clean in its marked position, at 30–45 minutes per core through the heaviest steel, with no slurry left on site and no hold-up to the services install.

Coring Through Stone at Bitton Railway Station

The job: A hole needed through a thick natural stone wall at Bitton railway station, without damaging the old stonework around it.
What we did: Diamond core drilled the hole wet, so the bit cut cleanly through the stone instead of hammering it.
The result: A clean, round hole with no cracking or damage to the surrounding stone.

The job: Precast concrete sections that needed cutting to size on site, plus a new opening through a precast wall.
What we did: Diamond saw cut each section to the marked lines and cut the opening out square, with water to keep the dust down.
The result: Accurate cuts and a clean opening, ready for the next trade with no making good.

What we did: Saw cut wet to the marked lines and removed the opening in sections, with no breaker used on the wall.
The result: A square opening with clean edges, ready for the lintel and frame, and no cracking around it.

The job: A large-diameter hole through a thick concrete wall for a new service route.
What we did: Anchored a rig-mounted core drill to the wall and drilled wet, keeping the barrel square through the full depth.
The result: The core came out in one piece, leaving a clean, straight hole ready for the service to go through.

The job: Openings in walls with too little room to bolt up a wall saw track.
What we did: Cut with a hydraulic ring saw, working from both sides on walls up to around 270mm thick.
The result: Clean, deep cuts in tight spaces, without the set-up time of bigger kit.
